Instagram ads are bought through Meta Ads Manager, the same tool that runs Facebook ads. Guides put the minimum at about $1 a day for some impression-focused campaigns, and Meta's budget help page is the place to check the current figure. People look elsewhere when costs rise, when an audience is not on Instagram, or when they want to stop depending on one company for all paid social.
The seven channels below are other places to buy attention, not tools that copy Ads Manager. Each entry gives the minimum budget and main formats, taken from the platform's help or advertising pages where they publish them, and the audience it suits. The last pick swaps the auction for paying creators directly.

TikTok Ads
Brands running Reels ads can usually reuse the same vertical video on TikTok, which makes it the most natural second channel. Creator-style footage made for Reels usually fits the TikTok feed without a reshoot.
Entry costs more than on Instagram. The TikTok Ads budget help page requires a daily budget above $50 at campaign level and above $20 per ad group. A lifetime ad group budget must cover $20 for every day of the flight, so a 31-day ad group needs at least $620.
Best for: Consumer brands with a steady supply of short vertical video.
Pricing:
- Campaign daily or lifetime budget: more than $50
- Ad group daily budget: more than $20
- Ad group lifetime budget: $20 multiplied by the number of days
Watch out for:
- Spreading tests across several ad groups multiplies the $20 floor quickly; a five-way creative test costs at least $100 a day.

Pinterest Ads
Pinterest users arrive with a plan: a kitchen remodel, a wedding, next season's wardrobe. That makes it a better fit than Instagram for home, fashion, food and DIY products with a long consideration window.
The Pinterest advertise page lists eight formats, including carousel, collections, quiz, showcase, video and full-width Premiere Spotlight takeovers. For awareness campaigns you bid per thousand impressions or per video view, and automatic bidding is available.
Best for: Retail and lifestyle brands whose buyers save ideas weeks before purchase.
Pricing:
- No public price or minimum budget
- Awareness bidding: CPM or CPV
- Set your own bids or use automatic bidding
Watch out for:
- Pinterest publishes no minimum budget or audience figure on its advertise page, so plan a test budget from your own cost targets.

Google Ads (YouTube)
YouTube ads run through Google Ads, which adds something Instagram lacks: the same account can bid on search keywords, so you can catch people actively looking for your product as well as interrupt them with video. Shorts gives you a vertical placement for Reels creative.
You choose the average daily budget, and the Google Ads budget help page explains that a single day can reach twice that figure and a month up to 30.4 times it; a $10 daily budget can bill $304 in a month.
Best for: Advertisers who want video reach and search demand in one account.
Pricing:
- You choose the daily budget
- Daily spend can reach 2 times the average daily budget
- Monthly spend capped at 30.4 times the average daily budget
Watch out for:
- A $10 daily budget can bill $20 on a busy day; only the monthly total is capped.

Snapchat Ads
Snapchat is the cheapest place here to start testing. The Snapchat advertising pricing page says you can spend as little as $5 a day, and it gives $75 in ad credit after your first $50 of spend.
Snap says $5 a day is the floor and recommends $20 to $50 a day to get through the Exploration Phase, which usually lasts four days or more depending on the objective. Daily and lifetime limits can be changed or paused at any time.
Best for: Brands targeting teens and young adults who want a low-cost test.
Pricing:
- Minimum: $5 a day
- Recommended: $20 to $50 a day
- $75 ad credit after spending $50
- Public Profile: free
Watch out for:
- Results in the first four or more days are noisy while the Exploration Phase runs, so do not judge a campaign on day two.

Reddit Ads
Reddit reaches people Instagram struggles with: developers, gamers, investors and hobbyists who research purchases in subreddits before buying. Ads can target communities by name, so a camera brand can show up in photography forums rather than in a broad interest bucket.
Standard campaigns start at $5 a day with no lifetime minimum, while Max Campaigns, launched in January 2026, need $20 a day or $620 lifetime, according to a March 2026 Stackmatix guide that cites Reddit's advertising page.
Best for: Tech, gaming and niche-hobby products with an active subreddit audience.
Pricing:
- Standard campaigns: $5 a day minimum
- Max Campaigns: $20 a day or $620 lifetime minimum, per Stackmatix
Watch out for:
- Redditors are quick to call out ads that sound like ads, and comments under promoted posts can turn on a brand in public.

LinkedIn Ads
For B2B, LinkedIn does what Instagram cannot: target by job title, seniority, company and industry. A payroll startup can show ads only to finance managers at companies with 50 to 500 staff.
The LinkedIn budget guide sets a $10 daily minimum for any format and $100 lifetime for a new campaign. Campaign Manager suggests $25 a day for new advertisers and $50 to $100 for existing ones. You pay only for the billable event tied to your objective, such as a website click.
Best for: B2B companies selling to specific roles or industries.
Pricing:
- Minimum daily budget: $10, any format
- Minimum lifetime budget for a new campaign: $100
- Suggested default: $25 a day for new advertisers
Watch out for:
- The suggested $25 a day for new advertisers is 2.5 times the minimum, a more realistic floor for a test than $10.

Modash (influencer marketing)
Paying creators to post is the alternative to bidding against other advertisers. Modash searches Instagram, TikTok and YouTube creators by audience location, size and engagement, then sends outreach emails from the platform, so you can still reach Instagram audiences without Ads Manager.
The Modash pricing page lists Essentials at $199 a month billed yearly ($2,388) or $299 billed monthly, with two seats and 300 creator profiles, and Performance at $499 a month billed yearly ($5,988) or $599 monthly. A 14-day trial needs no card. Our NoxInfluencer alternatives guide compares more creator search tools.
Best for: DTC brands that want creator content and reach without the ad auction.
Pricing:
- Essentials: $199 a month billed yearly ($2,388) or $299 monthly, 2 seats, 300 profiles, 150 emails
- Performance: $499 a month billed yearly ($5,988) or $599 monthly, 5 seats, 800 profiles
- Enterprise: from $14,700 a year
- 14-day trial, no card
Watch out for:
- The subscription buys search and workflow only; creator fees and free product are on top.

When to stay with Instagram Ads
Stay with Instagram Ads if your product sells visually to a broad consumer audience, because one Meta campaign covers Instagram and Facebook from the same budget and Meta's low entry point makes small tests cheap. Adding one channel from this list next to Meta is often safer than leaving outright.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum budget for TikTok ads?
A campaign budget must be above $50, daily or lifetime, and each ad group needs more than $20 a day. A lifetime ad group budget must equal at least $20 times the number of days it runs.
Which is cheaper, Instagram ads or TikTok ads?
Instagram is cheaper to start, since guides put Meta's minimum at about $1 a day for some campaigns while TikTok requires over $50 a day per campaign. Actual cost per result depends on audience and creative, so test both with the same video.
Is there a minimum spend for LinkedIn ads?
Yes. LinkedIn requires $10 a day for any format and $100 lifetime for a new campaign, and suggests starting at $25 a day.
Can I advertise on Instagram without Meta Ads Manager?
Not with paid ads; boosting a post from the Instagram app still bills through Meta. The alternative is paying creators directly, where tools such as Modash find and manage influencers.
