Promo.com still works, but the product has changed. Its maker, Slidely, rebranded as Promo, and the video maker, known for ready-made templates for Facebook and Instagram ads, now centres on PromoAI, which plans ideas, writes storyboards, builds the videos and schedules them to your social accounts. A second product, ActiveCast, turns licensed photos into AI video. Both draw on a library of 275 million Getty Images photos and clips with licensing and indemnification included.
The catch is price. The Promo pricing page starts at $29 a month billed yearly ($348 a year) for Basic, which includes no PromoAI videos at all; Standard at $59 a month yearly includes 30 a month. Monthly billing doubles each figure. The seven picks below cost less or start free, and are ordered for small businesses making their own social ads.
Prices below are as of November 6, 2026. Our method is on How we review tools.

Adobe Express
Adobe Express covers most of what Promo users did by hand: drop in a clip, add captions and a logo, and resize the result for Reels, Stories and a feed post. The free plan allows videos up to 30 minutes and schedules posts to one account per social network.
Premium on the Adobe Express pricing page costs $9.99 a month with no annual commitment, adds 250 generative credits and background removal for video, and extends clips to two hours. Firefly Pro at $19.99 a month adds 4,000 credits for text-to-video.
Best for: Small businesses that want free, decent-looking social video with Adobe fonts.
Pricing:
- Free: videos up to 30 minutes, 5 GB storage, daily generative use
- Premium: $9.99 a month, billed monthly
- Firefly Pro: $19.99 a month
- Teams: $4.99 per license a month in year one, then $7.99, 2-seat minimum
Watch out for:
- Stock is Adobe Stock, not Getty, and premium assets need Premium.
- The free plan schedules only one account per social network.

Canva
Canva is the pick when the video ad has to match a carousel, a story and a landing page banner from the same campaign. Templates are sized for each platform, and a brand kit keeps fonts and colours locked across all of them.
Pro's price varies by country and changes often, from about $120 a year in the US, so check the Canva pricing page for your region before comparing it with Promo Basic at $29 a month.
Best for: Marketing teams that run video and static creative in the same campaign.
Pricing:
- Free plan
- Pro: price varies by country and changes often; check canva.com/pricing (from about $120 a year in the US)
Watch out for:
- Its editor is built for short clips; long-form edits and multi-track audio are basic.

InVideo
InVideo is the closest to PromoAI's pitch of typing an idea and getting a finished ad. Its AI agents draft the script, pick stock, generate shots and cut them on a timeline that up to 10 people can edit together on Plus.
The InVideo pricing page sells credits rather than a count of videos, and prices every plan per seat: 400 credits on Starter at $10 a seat a month yearly, 2,000 on Plus at $30 a seat a month yearly. Plus also adds Seedance 2.5 at 1080p and 10 free guest seats.
Best for: Advertisers who want many AI-generated ad variations to test.
Pricing:
- Starter: $10 a seat a month billed yearly or $20 monthly, 400 credits a seat
- Plus: $30 a seat a month billed yearly or $60 monthly, 2,000 credits
- Max: $250 a seat a month
Watch out for:
- Credits reset each month, so heavy generation weeks can run you dry before renewal.

Renderforest
Renderforest overlaps with Promo on templates but adds logo reveals, intros and a music visualizer, and runs AI video models such as Kling 3.0 and Seedance inside the editor. Unlike Promo, it has a free plan.
Paid plans run $9, $19 and $39 a month on yearly billing for Lite, Pro and Business, as of November 2026, or $15, $39 and $59 month to month. We cover its own rivals in our Renderforest alternatives guide.
Best for: Brands that need intros and logo animations as well as ads.
Pricing:
- Free plan
- Lite: $9 a month billed yearly, $15 monthly
- Pro: $19 a month billed yearly, $39 monthly
- Business: $39 a month billed yearly, $59 monthly
Watch out for:
- AI generation quotas were cut in May 2026; Pro now gets 6 Seedance 2.0 generations instead of 8.

CapCut
Ads that look native on TikTok and Reels often come out of CapCut rather than a template tool. It is a full editor with auto captions, effects and trending templates, and the free plan covers basic editing on phone, desktop and web.
On the CapCut pricing page, Pro costs $19.99 a month with 1,200 AI credits and 1 TB of storage, and Teams $12.49 per seat a month with a shared brand kit. Yearly billing saves up to 30%.
Best for: Creators and brands making vertical video that should not look like an ad.
Pricing:
- Free: free templates and basic editing
- Pro: $19.99 a month, 1,200 AI credits
- Ultra: $79 a month
- Teams: $12.49 per seat a month, 2 seats by default
Watch out for:
- Listed prices are for reference only; the final price, taxes and offers depend on your signed-in account.

Biteable
Biteable trades flexibility for speed. You pick a template, swap in text, brand colours and a logo, and publish within minutes, which suits a solo marketer who has no time for an editor.
The Biteable pricing page charges $15 a month billed yearly for one user or $29 monthly, and a 7-day trial with up to three seats needs no credit card.
Best for: Solo marketers who want branded clips with minimal editing.
Pricing:
- Pro (1 user): $15 a month billed yearly, $29 monthly
- Premium (3 users): $49 a month billed yearly, $99 monthly
- Business: contact sales

Animoto
A product shot, a price and a song is often all a shop ad needs, and Animoto builds exactly that. The Professional plan includes over a million Getty Images photos and videos and 3,000 licensed tracks, the nearest match here to Promo's Getty library.
The Animoto pricing page keeps a free plan with a watermark at 720p. Month to month, Basic costs $19, Professional $29 and Professional Plus $79; yearly billing brings them to $9, $19 and $39 a month.
Best for: Retail and service businesses that want Getty stock without Promo's price.
Pricing:
- Free: 720p with watermark
- Basic: $9 a month billed yearly or $19 month to month
- Professional: $19 a month billed yearly or $29 month to month
- Professional Plus: $39 a month billed yearly or $79 month to month, 3 users, 100 million+ Getty assets

When to stay with Promo
Stay if you publish often enough to use PromoAI's monthly video allowance and its scheduling, or if Getty licensing with indemnification matters to your legal team. Pro covers ten brands, which suits agencies. Remember that unused PromoAI videos do not carry over at renewal, so size the plan to what you actually publish.
