Robinhood Alternatives for Stocks and Crypto, by Country

Robinhood is a US brokerage app for stocks, ETFs, options and crypto, and it now runs in Europe, the UK and Canada as well. In the US it still lists $0 commissions for self-directed stock and ETF trades in its fee schedule, which also shows a $100 charge to transfer an account out. Robinhood Gold, the paid tier, costs $5 a month after a 30-day trial and adds a 3% IRA match, lower index option fees and interest on cash.

What Robinhood offers depends on where you live. A Finance Magnates report from July 2, 2026 says Robinhood serves about 28 million customers in 38 countries. EU users get crypto, stock tokens and perpetual futures; UK users have had stocks but were still waiting for crypto; Canada went live after the WonderFi acquisition closed on June 1, 2026. So the best replacement for a US account is not the best one in Madrid or Manchester, and the picks below note where each one works.

This page compares fees and features. It is not investment advice. Stocks, options and crypto can all lose value, and margin or futures trades can lose more than you put in.

Prices below are as of November 6, 2026. Our method is on How we review tools.

Fidelity

Fidelity is the steady choice for US investors who mostly buy and hold. Online US stock and ETF trades cost $0, and there is no minimum to open an account. For someone who mostly adds money monthly and rarely trades, that is all the pricing that matters.

Options cost more than at Robinhood. The Fidelity commissions page lists $0.65 per contract plus a regulatory fee, and margin costs 12.075% on debit balances under $25,000, with a base rate of 10.825% since September 18, 2026.

Best for: US buy-and-hold investors and retirement savers.

Pricing:

  • Online US stocks and ETFs: $0
  • Options: $0.65 per contract
  • Account minimum: none
  • Margin: 12.075% under $25,000, down to 10.325% for $250,000 to $499,999

Watch out for:

  • Margin rates are high for small balances, so borrowing to trade costs more here than at Interactive Brokers.

Charles Schwab

Schwab suits Robinhood users who want a person to call. Online stock and ETF trades on US exchanges are $0, brokerage accounts have no minimum, and you can place trades through a broker by phone when you need help.

That help has a price. The Schwab pricing page charges $25 for a broker-assisted stock or ETF trade and $0.65 per options contract online. Crypto services run through a separate Schwab affiliate.

Best for: Investors who want phone support and the option of a broker placing trades for them.

Pricing:

  • Online US stocks and ETFs: $0
  • Options: $0.65 per contract
  • Broker-assisted trades: $25
  • Brokerage account minimum: $0

Watch out for:

  • Unlisted ETFs carry a commission, and the $25 charge applies every time a broker places a trade for you.

Interactive Brokers

Interactive Brokers is one of the few picks here that works both in the US and across Europe. Its pricing pages list entities serving the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and much of Europe, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and the Nordics.

There are two price plans. IBKR Lite gives commission-free trades in US exchange-listed stocks and ETFs, but only to US residents. IBKR Pro charges per share: $0.0035 on the tiered plan with a $0.35 minimum per order, or $0.005 fixed with a $1.00 minimum, per the IBKR stock commissions page.

Best for: Investors who want many global markets in one account, from the US or Europe.

Pricing:

  • IBKR Lite: $0 on qualifying US-listed stocks and ETFs (US residents)
  • IBKR Pro tiered: $0.0035 per share, $0.35 minimum per order
  • IBKR Pro fixed: $0.005 per share, $1.00 minimum per order
  • Maximum: 1% of trade value

Watch out for:

  • European clients pay Pro rates, so a small trade costs at least $0.35 or $1.00 instead of nothing.
  • The trading software is dense, and the menus take time to learn after Robinhood's single screen.

Webull

Webull chases the same customer as Robinhood: people who trade often from a phone, but who want more chart tools. It charges $0 commission on US-listed stocks, ETFs and options, and has no deposit minimum.

A few option trades do carry a fee. The Webull pricing page lists $0.50 per contract on certain index options and $0.10 per contract on oversized option orders, plus regulatory fees such as the SEC fee on sales.

Best for: Active US traders who want Robinhood-style pricing with deeper charts.

Pricing:

  • US stocks, ETFs and options: $0 commission
  • Certain index options: $0.50 per contract
  • Oversized option orders: $0.10 per contract
  • No deposit minimum

Watch out for:

  • Crypto fees are not on the main fee schedule, so check the order screen before you buy.

Public

Public pays you on options instead of charging. Stock and ETF options trade at $0 and earn a rebate of $0.06 to $0.18 per contract, depending on the underlying, your volume and the order channel (app or API). US stocks and ETFs are $0 in regular and extended hours.

The Public fee schedule, updated October 13, 2026, is unusually detailed. It also lists Public Reserve, a membership at $20 a month or $200 a year, and $0.35 per contract on index options.

Best for: US options traders and people who like every fee written down.

Pricing:

  • US stocks and ETFs: $0
  • Stock and ETF options: $0, plus a $0.06 to $0.18 rebate per contract
  • Crypto: $0.49 to $6.29 flat up to $500; 1.25% above $500
  • Outgoing ACAT transfer: $100

Watch out for:

  • Crypto is expensive on small orders: $0.49 on a $10 buy is close to 5%.

Trading 212

For UK and EU readers, Trading 212 fills the gap Robinhood leaves. Its Invest account, Stocks and Shares ISA and SIPP are commission-free with no custody fee, and the company says the only fee it can charge on them is currency conversion.

That FX fee is 0.15%, per the Trading 212 fee article. Exchange and tax charges still apply: 0.5% stamp duty on most London shares, the £1.50 PTM levy on UK orders over £10,000, and France's 0.4% transaction tax on large French companies.

Best for: UK and EU investors who want a commission-free app with ISA and SIPP accounts.

Pricing:

  • Commission: free
  • FX conversion: 0.15%
  • Custody: free
  • Taxes and exchange levies passed through

Watch out for:

  • The 0.15% FX fee hits every US stock trade from a pound or euro account, both buying and selling.

eToro

eToro is built around copy trading: you can mirror another user's portfolio and see their past results. It sells stocks and crypto in many countries, so check in the app which products your country allows.

Pricing differs from Robinhood's zero-commission model. The eToro fees page lists 1% on each crypto buy and sell and $1 or $2 per stock trade at open and close. GBP and EUR accounts withdraw for free; USD accounts pay $5 with a $30 minimum.

Best for: People who want to follow other traders and hold stocks and crypto in one app.

Pricing:

  • Crypto: 1% per buy and per sell
  • Stocks: $1 or $2 per open and close
  • Withdrawals: free from GBP and EUR accounts; $5 from USD accounts
  • Inactivity: $10 a month after 12 months without login

Watch out for:

  • A copied trader's past returns say little about the future, and the currency conversion fee varies by location and payment method.

Coinbase

If you used Robinhood mainly for crypto, a dedicated exchange gives you more coins and the option to withdraw to your own wallet. Coinbase shows its fee and spread in the order preview on simple trades and runs Advanced Trade with maker and taker tiers for larger orders.

Coinbase One is its subscription. The Coinbase One page describes zero Coinbase trading fees up to a limit and up to $1M of cover for losses from unauthorized account access. For more crypto-first apps, see our Uphold alternatives page.

Best for: Crypto buyers who want more coins than a broker offers and the option to self-custody.

Pricing:

  • Simple trades: Coinbase fee plus spread, shown in the preview
  • Advanced Trade: maker and taker tiers
  • Coinbase One: no public price; up to $1M cover for unauthorized-access losses

Watch out for:

  • Even under Coinbase One, the spread stays in the price, so "zero fees" is not the market price.

When to stay with Robinhood

Robinhood is still hard to beat on price for a US investor who trades stocks, ETFs and the occasional option from a phone. If you use Gold, the 3% IRA match on the 2026 contribution limit is worth up to $225, which exceeds the $60 a year Gold costs. The Gold page says you must stay subscribed for a year and keep the assets in the IRA for five years to keep the full match, so factor that in before you move.
