Data engineers often get one conference a year, and the choice tends to follow the warehouse contract. Snowflake and Databricks each run a June week at Moscone in San Francisco, two weeks apart. Those weeks are useful if you run that platform. Pipeline, orchestration and modelling work that crosses platforms gets less airtime there.
For 2027 the difficulty is timing. Most data events have posted dates and venues, but only one has posted 2027 ticket prices. This page gives you the dates and cities to plan around now, the one price that is public, and what each organizer has said about registration.

AI Council
AI Council is what Data Council became. The old datacouncil.ai address now redirects here. The organizer calls it the technical AI conference for engineers, researchers and founders building with AI. The 2027 edition is March 23-24 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.
Best for: Data and ML engineers who want practitioner talks without vendor pitches. Founders building data and AI infrastructure.

What you actually get: Talks picked by community track hosts for technical depth, with no vendor pitches. A ticket covers all talks, workshops and networking. Travel and lodging are not included.
Notable limitations:
- The focus is now AI. Pipeline and warehouse content depends on the 2027 tracks, which are not posted yet.
- The 2027 speakers are not announced. Early speaker applications are open.
- Full refunds end 45 days before the event. After that, tickets can only be transferred.

Snowflake Summit
Snowflake Summit is Snowflake's user conference. The 2027 edition is June 7-10 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. For now the official page is a save-the-date.
Best for: Teams that run Snowflake as their warehouse or data platform, and partners who work with Snowflake customers.
Dates and city: June 7-10, 2027. Moscone Center, San Francisco. In-person.
What you actually get: So far, a date, a venue and a save-the-date form. The pricing page still shows the 2026 edition, which sold a Full Conference Pass, an expo-only Basecamp Pass and a free keynote livestream.
Notable limitations:
- 2027 registration is not open and there is no 2027 price.
- The agenda centres on Snowflake's platform. Check the 2027 sessions when they are posted.
- It runs two weeks before Data + AI Summit in the same venue. Few teams need both.
Tickets: Not announced for 2027. For reference, the Summit 26 pricing page listed the Full Conference Pass at $2,295 for regular registration and a free Keynote Livestream Pass. Use the save-the-date form on the official page for 2027 registration news.
Data + AI Summit
Data + AI Summit is the Databricks conference, in San Francisco and online. June 21-24, 2027 across Moscone North, West and South.
Best for: Teams on Databricks and the lakehouse tools around it. Engineers who need an online option if travel is not approved.
Dates and city: June 21-24, 2027. Moscone North, West and South, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco. Some events are a short walk away. In-person and virtual.
What you actually get: Per the official pricing page, the full conference all-access pass will include keynotes, the Expo, breakout sessions, networking events and virtual access.
Notable limitations:
- The pricing page lists no 2027 prices or deadlines yet.
- The agenda centres on Databricks. Check the 2027 sessions when they are posted.
- Some events run outside Moscone. Leave walking time between sessions.
Tickets: Not announced. The official pricing page describes the all-access pass but gives no 2027 price.
Snowflake Summit or Data + AI Summit?
The one your production platform runs on. Both agendas centre on their own stack. If you are still choosing, Big Data LDN puts many data vendors in one venue, and its seminars are free.
Big Data LDN
Big Data LDN calls itself the UK's leading data, analytics and AI conference and exhibition. September 22-23, 2027 at Olympia London.
Best for: European data teams who want many vendors and many talks in two days without a long-haul flight.
Dates and city: Wednesday September 22, 09:00-18:00, and Thursday September 23, 09:00-17:30, 2027. Olympia London, Hammersmith Road. In-person.
What you actually get: An exhibition plus seminars in 15 conference theatres. All seminars are free to attend on a first come, first served basis.
Notable limitations:
- Seminars are first come, first served. Popular sessions fill up.
- Registration for 2027 is not open. For now you can register interest.
- Sessions sit inside an expo programme, so they are shorter than at a vendor user conference.
Tickets: Not announced. The official FAQ says all seminars in all 15 theatres are free to attend. Register interest on the official site for 2027 news.
Other data engineering conferences worth considering
Current, Confluent's data streaming conference, ran in London on May 19-20, 2026 and in San Francisco on November 4-5, 2026. The site also links Current New Orleans and underCurrent in Bengaluru, without dates. 2027 dates are not on the official site yet.
Airflow Summit ran August 31 to September 2, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency in Austin. A free online edition, Airflow Summit Online Reconnect, ran November 4-5, 2026. The site does not list a 2027 Summit yet.
Data Day Texas is a data conference in Austin. Its official site still shows only the 2026 edition. A 2027 date is not posted.
