Most game studios can afford one or two conference trips a year. Choose badly and the publisher you wanted to pitch was in another city that week. Developers, publishers and platform holders do not all go to the same events. At some of them, the pass you buy also decides which halls and talks you can enter.
This page lists the game development conferences with official 2027 dates. For each one you get the city, the venue and the lowest listed price for a pass that includes the talk program. Hall-only and business-only passes are covered in the event sections. If an organizer has not posted 2027 prices, the table says Not announced.

PG Connects London
PG Connects London is a January games business conference run by Steel Media, the publisher of Pocket Gamer. It uses two venues, The Brewery on Chiswell Street and the Barbican Centre, which the organizer says are three minutes apart. In-person.
Best for: Studio leads and business developers who want publisher, investor and platform meetings early in the year. Teams that want a London stop before March.
Dates and city: January 18-19, 2027. The Brewery, 52 Chiswell Street, plus the Barbican Centre, London. In-person.
What you actually get: A two-day conference program with fringe events around it. The 2027 edition also hosts the Beyond Games Transmedia Summit. There is a discounted student ticket for people on games courses, and volunteers get a free pass.
Notable limitations:
- The Eventbrite page shows a price range but does not list the ticket types.
- The Eventbrite listing says "No refunds."
- VAT at 20% is charged on entry, per the registration page.
Tickets: Prices range from £108 to £1,500 on the official Eventbrite page, with an early bird discount applied. Ticket types are not itemised there. Super Early Bird prices started at £115 and ended October 8, 2026. Student tickets are discounted.
GDC Festival of Gaming
The GDC Festival of Gaming is the March developer week in San Francisco that most people still call GDC. It runs four days at Moscone Center. In-person. For 2027, access is split into passes for the talk program, the Festival Hall and the Business Hall.
Best for: Developers who want the full GDC talk program. Indie and start-up teams that can apply for the $299 pass. Business developers who only need meeting space in the Business Hall.
Dates and city: March 1-4, 2027. Moscone Center, San Francisco. In-person. Official housing is open.
What you actually get: The Festival pass includes the full GDC Program of sessions and talks, the Festival Hall from Tuesday to Thursday, GDC Nights and Business Hall access. Game Changer adds a lounge, daily lunch, reserved seating and a year of GDC Vault. Two lower-priced passes leave out the main program: Festival Hall only and Business Hall only.
Notable limitations:
- The Early Rate ends December 11 at 11:59pm PT. The pricing page does not list the later rates.
- The Indie or Start-Up pass is application-based. The eligibility text is not shown on the pricing page.
- The Academic pass needs an accredited educational email address.

Nordic Game
Nordic Game is a four-day games industry conference in Malmö, Sweden. It runs at Slagthuset, close to Malmö Central Station. In-person.
Best for: European indie and mid-size studios. Developers who want talks and business meetings in one building. Teams based in the Nordics.
Dates and city: May 25-28, 2027. Slagthuset, Jörgen Kocksgatan 7, Malmö. In-person.
What you actually get: A conference pass, a Business Pass that the organizer describes as 50 EUR on top of a standard pass, and a Student Pass.
Notable limitations:
- Prices exclude VAT. VAT is added at checkout.
- A news post says pass prices rise "on Monday" and gives no date. Buy early if the price matters.
- The Student Pass needs a student ID and has no upgrades.

Develop:Brighton
Develop:Brighton is a UK game developer conference on the Brighton seafront. It runs three days at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole. In-person. The 2026 edition was its 20th anniversary.
Best for: UK and European developers who want a talk-led conference. Studio leads who are hiring. Teams that would rather not fly to San Francisco.
Dates and city: July 13-15, 2027. DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, Brighton. In-person.
What you actually get: A three-day developer program in one seafront hotel. The site asks people to sign up to the newsletter for 2027 news.
Notable limitations:
- No 2027 ticket prices on the official site yet.
- The 2027 agenda is not published, so judge the program once it is.
- Brighton is busy in July. Book a hotel early.
Tickets: Not announced. The official site lists the 2027 dates and venue but no ticket prices.
gamescom dev
gamescom dev is the developer conference held alongside gamescom in Cologne. It runs two days. In-person.
Best for: Developers who also want publisher, platform and press meetings at gamescom. Teams that want talks and the trade fair on one trip.
Dates and city: August 23-24, 2027. Cologne. The official venue page still describes 2026, when the conference used the Confex Center at Koelnmesse. In-person.
What you actually get: A two-day developer program tied to gamescom. In 2026, gamescom dev access was part of the gamescom Business 5 Days ticket.
Notable limitations:
- No 2027 ticket names or prices yet.
- Cologne hotels fill up for gamescom week. Book early.
- The 2026 ticket bundle may change for 2027. Check before you assume it.
Tickets: Not announced. For 2026, tickets were part of the gamescom Business 5 Days ticket.
Other game development conferences worth considering
The gamescom dev Leadership Summit is dated March 23-25, 2027 in Lisbon, Portugal. It is a smaller event from the gamescom dev team, aimed at studio leadership rather than whole teams.
PG Connects Barcelona ran June 15-16, 2026. The organizer shows a "register interest 2027" button but no 2027 date yet.
PG Connects Summit San Francisco ran March 9, 2026, the same month as GDC. A 2027 date is not on the official site yet.

For talks, GDC, and apply for the $299 Indie or Start-Up pass before December 11. For publisher meetings in Europe, Nordic Game in May keeps four days in one venue. PG Connects London in January suits business meetings early in the year.
What does the lowest-priced GDC 2027 pass cover?
The Business Hall only pass is $125 at the Early Rate and covers meetings, with no sessions. Festival Hall only is $175 and covers the Festival floor sessions. For the main talk program, the Festival pass is $549, or $299 for Indie or Start-Up if your application is accepted.
Are there student discounts?

Why do Develop:Brighton and gamescom dev show Not announced?
Both organizers have posted 2027 dates but no 2027 ticket prices. We do not copy a 2026 price into a 2027 table.
Are there GameFi or metaverse conferences in 2027?
We found none with official 2027 dates. YGG Play cancelled its 2026 YGG Play Summit when it shut down its platform, per a KuCoin news report. NFT Paris cancelled its 2026 edition, as reported by The Block. NFT.NYC lists only its September 1-3, 2026 edition. At gamescom, web3 games show up in side events, not a dedicated conference. Bottom line
Start with what the trip has to produce. For the talk program, buy a GDC pass before December 11. For European publisher meetings, look at PG Connects London or Nordic Game. For a UK developer conference, hold July 13-15 for Develop:Brighton. For gamescom, hold August 23-24 and wait for the ticket list.
