The short version

What is the Web Archives extension?

Web Archives is a free, open-source browser extension by Armin Sebastian. Right-click a page or click the toolbar button, and it opens that URL in the archive or cache you pick.

Its wiki lists eight sources: the Wayback Machine, Archive.is, Ghostarchive, Perma.cc, Megalodon, WebCite, Software Heritage and Yandex Cache. Memento Time Travel used to be on that list. After it shut down in September 2025, version 7.3.0 removed it on 15 February 2026. The developer opened an issue the same day to add the archives Memento used to cover, and it is still open. The latest release, 7.3.3, came out on 27 June 2026.

Bottom line: the easiest way to check several archives from a desktop browser now that Memento Time Travel is gone. If you need lookups from code, run MemGator instead.
